Happy Chinese New Year to all readers! Wishing all a prosperous and healthy year of the Dog ahead! Today, I am reviewing the 1st set of the Modular Buildings released by XingBao (星堡積木) in collaborations with DEMO Studio (宁波笛墨文化),  XB-01001,  Zhong Hua Street: Silk Zhuang (中华街:绸缎庄)

Upon opening the box. The Instruction Book is seated nicely a pop up paper tray.

4 Packs of Numbered 1 Pack. Builds the street.

4 Packs of Numbered 2 Pack. Builds the foundation and ground level walls.

5 Packs of Numbered 3 Pack. Builds the interior of the ground level.

5 Packs of Numbered 4 Pack. Builds the interior and shop front of the ground level.

6 Packs of Numbered 5 Pack. Builds the remainder of the ground level.

5 Packs of Numbered 6 Pack. Builds the back wall.

3 Packs of Numbered 7 Pack. Builds the lower roof.

4 Packs of Numbered 8 Pack. Builds the base of the 2nd level.

5 Packs of Numbered 9 Pack. Builds the interior of the 2nd level.

5 Packs of Numbered 10 Pack. Builds the interior of the 2nd level.

8 Packs of Numbered 11 Pack. Builds the remainder of the 2nd level and the higher roof.

4 Packs of Numbered 12 Pack. Builds the Minifigs, pushcart and signage.

Loose Items: 1 32×32 plate, 1 pack of spare parts.

The sticker sheet is taped to the first page of the instruction booklet.

That’s a total of 59 packs of parts and a loose 32×32 green plate!

This build has developed a more serious case of warping plate right at the beginning as compared to the previous 3 buildings.

I love the amount of detailing being put in. Shelves of different colour plates/tiles to represent different colour of textiles.

After thoughts:
I built this set over a spread of a few days in the night clocking almost 9 hours to complete.

This review concludes the modular building sets of the Zhong Hua Street designed by DEMO Studio released to date.

    Where do you buy all the Chinese buildings with the retail boxes? I can’t find anyone selling them with boxes who don’t charge at US20 for the box
