XingBao Review XB-01102:中华街 Mini Building Series 2

XingBao (星堡積木) has partnered with DEMO Studio (宁波笛墨文化) to produce the Zhong Hua Street (中华街) Series of Modular Buildings and Mini Buildings. To date, 4 sets of Modular Buildings and 2 sets of 4-in-1s Mini Buildings have been released under this partnership.

Today, I will review 1 of the 2 sets of 4-in-1 mini buildings released, XB-01102, the Series 2 of the Zhong Hua Street Mini Building. It comprises of 4 buildings, Wang Jiang Tower (望江楼), Cloth House (布坊), Library (书院) and Tea House (茶楼).

01102A : 望江楼 (Wang Jiang Tower) – 367 pieces

9 packs of parts numbered 1 & 2 + spares and instruction leaflet.

Interesting to note that there is the stud counts for the plates in the parts callout. (After afterthoughts : It would seem that there is an error in this instruction leaflet, the number of stud counts is usually for tiles and not plates and the yellow highlight for the current step is missing.)

01102B : 布坊 (Cloth House) – 413 pieces

Interesting to note there is a yellow highlight in the instruction leaflet for the current steps. (After afterthoughts : I realise the yellow highlight is the norm in XingBao instructions.)

After thoughts:
The overall build is pretty easy. The parts I believe are from the same factory as Lepin given the relationship of both companies. I am however very impressed with the quality control of this series, with zero wrong parts / colours and each numbered bags have zero extra parts or the usual spare parts, all the extra and spare parts are packed into one sealed pack.

I love this series very much as compared with the earlier Lepin’s 03061 review as this series can be jointed together to form a street which makes me more excited to find and buy 01101 which is the series 1 of this series to form a longer street. There only one almost neglectable flaw in this series, where pins holes are catered for in the buildings, the lack of technic pins to join the buildings does disappoint alittle,
